About Me

My photo
I am who I am. Don't try to change me, It won't work! Like me, love me, or get the hell out of my way! I have been described as an opinionated asshole in the past. Mostly by people that didn't like hearing what I had to say. I have also been decrribed as a very good friend to have when your butt's in the fire. If you are still reading this then maybe one day you will see that side of me, as you have passed the first test, you have listened.

The Mushrooms

This was a very good trip with a very good friend. Everyone this IS WHAT WE DO. Their is so much to do here from climbing to camping to kayaking. Just camping in this area is a lot of fun. To everyone that not been here before you had better make it out soon. If you don't we will just keep all of this undiscovered or forgoten rock to our selves. At least until we have climbed it all that is. Come on a trip with us, See new things. Put your hands on some rock that may never have been touched by anouther in the last 100 years. Come on, You know you want to.

  1. Brother, this was SUCH an amazing trip. SO many good images and memories. I love the way the snow is blowing straight across the stills of camp in the morning... a camp that had no more than a dusting when we set up the night before. I wish we had gotten video footage of the water bottles freezing before we could pour out 16 oz of liquid to make chai and coffee.

Memories that stick in my head- the mile-and-a-half hike in the wind and snow the night before to see the lights of Germany Valley and Pendelton; our great conversations as we sat around the non-campfire; the brutal traverse across the valley between the Dragon Wall and the Mushrooms and the final assault on the steeeep ridge to gain the top; the feeling of walking down thru the pines to the base of the formation; the view to the spectacular, amazing Dragon Wall; the looooooong hike out the spur to the top of the ridge (with a break for Special K protein bars- Special K/Kellogs Cereals, another proud sponsor!); the inevitable return to "civilization" and the surprise of Cindy's incredible nachos, cupcakes, and the fine nose of the Speyburn... all in all, a great end to two years of anticipation! Thanks again for making it happen, and for the fun video to commemorate the event!

  2. It was definitely the best trip I have been on in a long while. Even though it was a demanding hike in and out the company and the scenery made it well worth it. The thing that really sticks out in my mind is wishing I had a bottle of gatarade around say0130 or so. Or at least the bottle. LOL. Then their was seeing the mushrooms for the first time with my own eyes... Amazingly beautiful. Thank you to the punisher for taking me out and for some off the best company ever.
